Make Mother’s Day Special With These Crafts

Little boy holding up his orange paint covered hand and a hand print painting.May is all about celebrating the special lady in your life! Whether that is your grandmother, mother, wife, or just a woman you are close to, the best way to say “I love you” is with a handmade craft. Dad, deciding on presents usually falls on your to-do list, so make it easy on yourself this year by gathering the kids to make one of these three Mother’s Day crafts she is sure to love. They all incorporate the little one’s handprints, so brownie points are in store for such a precious keepsake.

Handprint You Are My Sunshine Tote

This craft is adorable and extremely affordable and easy to make. Head to your local craft store to pick up a white canvas tote bag. Although it may look like nothing special in-store, with the addition of yellow handprint sunshine, mom is going to go crazy over the cuteness. First, wet your little boy or girl’s hand in yellow paint, and make prints in a circle. For the center, use the fist to fill the sunshine. Lastly, for a finishing touch, paint “You are my Sunshine” over the sun with black paint. After all, when you think of mom, you probably think of warm sunny days!

Handprint Flower Apron

If mom is a chef, of course, she needs an apron! With the help of the kids’ little hands and feet, you can paint a garden full of flower petals and butterflies. Although, you don’t have to be Picasso to make this garden apron come to life, so just have fun with it. Once dry, take a black paint pen and write “Mothers Day 2021” in the bottom corner, and have the artists (your kids) sign their name. Mom’s face will burst with joy when she opens this present on Mother’s Day morning.

Printable Handprint Mother’s Day Poem

With a little rhyme and reason, mom is sure to shed a tear or two. This craft is extremely easy, as the words are written for you.  The poem talks about how the little years go fast, as well as how mom cleans the kid’s handprints off the wall. Once you print it out, glue it to a piece of colored construction paper. After, have each of the children make painted handprints on the sheet.
