The brakes are one of the most important components of your vehicle! They are a hydraulic system that uses the force of friction to put your vehicle to a halt. The system uses the pressure of the driver’s foot on the brake pedal to apply the brakes and force a stop. If there is something wrong with your vehicle’s brakes, that can be the difference between life and death when it comes to slowing down in case of an accident. Your vehicle will most definitely let you know when it needs a brake repair or replacement. Listen for the warning signs of brake damage!
If your vehicle is making some awful squealing noises whenever you hit your brakes, that is its way of telling you that it needs some work done. Today, most brake pads are crafted with built-in “wear indicators”, which emit that squealing sound to let the driver know that their brakes are nearing a dangerous wear level extent.
If your brake pedal is violently shaking whenever you press down on it, your brake pads are probably causing that problem. Brake pads are held together with a sort of bringing resin. Once that begins to wear down, the adhesive gets hot and smears across the rotor. Mechanics call this “glazing.”
You should promptly have your brake system looked at by a professional mechanic if you begin to feel the sensation of low or spongy brakes. If it takes more effort than usual to get your vehicle to a halt, you are more likely to be involved in a rear-ending accident.
This issue is sometimes referred to as “brake fade.” Usually, it is a direct result of intentionally applying the brakes over a long distance without ever bringing the vehicle to a full stop. This is particularly common for those who live in hilly areas with more curvy roads than typical.
